But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
Jeremiah 17:7

What has the Lord shown you?

Jeremiah 17 is a prophetic message from God delivered through the prophet Jeremiah. In this chapter, God contrasts those who trust in human strength with those who trust in Him. The people of Judah had turned away from God, relying on their own wisdom and alliances with other nations instead of placing their faith in the Lord. This is a reminder for believers today to place their faith in God rather than in human solutions, wealth, or power. The Lord has shown us that true blessing and security come from trusting in Him completely. This verse is an encouragement to keep our faith firm in God, no matter the trials we face.

How do you obey it?

  • Trust in God’s Word: Read and meditate on the Bible daily to grow in faith. Believe in God’s promises, even when circumstances seem uncertain.
  • Pray and Surrender Your Worries to God: Pray about your fears, decisions, and struggles instead of trying to handle them alone.
  • Stop Relying Solely on Human Strength: Instead of depending only on your own abilities, wealth, or others, seek God first in all things. Be willing to follow God’s lead, even when it goes against worldly logic.
  • Encourage Others to Trust in God: Share your testimony of how trusting God has changed your life. Support and pray for others going through struggles, reminding them of God’s faithfulness.

Reflection

Have you ever placed your trust in people, wealth, or your own strength instead of God? Have you experienced a time when trusting in the Lord brought you peace or provision? How can you shift your focus from temporary problems to God’s eternal promises? Are you patient in waiting for God’s timing, or do you struggle with impatience? What specific promises from Scripture strengthen your trust in the Lord?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your unfailing love and faithfulness. Your Word says, “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.” Today, I choose to put my full trust in You and surrender my fears, worries, and doubts. Help me to rely on You in every situation and not on my own understanding. Strengthen my faith so that I may walk in confidence, even when life’s circumstances seem uncertain. Fill me with Your peace and remind me daily that my hope is in You alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
