What has the Lord shown you?
The entire psalm emphasizes that God hears the cries of His people, rescues them from fear, stays near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who trust Him. Faith does not eliminate problems. However, righteousness positions us under God’s protection and care. This verse gives us a realistic yet hopeful promise. It does not say the righteous will have no troubles. It says many are their afflictions. Being faithful to God does not exempt us from hardship. There will be trials, disappointments, delays, misunderstandings, and battles. Your current struggle is not permanent. Your pain is not unnoticed. God sees every tear, every prayer, every quiet endurance. Deliverance may not always come the way we expect, but it will come in God’s perfect time and way.
How do you obey it?
- Continue Living Righteously: Choose integrity even under pressure. Refuse to compromise your faith to escape difficulty. Obey God’s Word even when it costs you something.
- Accept That Trials Are Part of the Righteous Life: Do not turn away from God when problems arise. Stay faithful even when life feels unfair. Understand that trials do not mean God has abandoned you.
- Persevere With Hope: Speak faith over your situation. Encourage others who are suffering. Keep serving God even while waiting for breakthrough.
- Trust God for Deliverance: Pray instead of panicking. Wait patiently for God’s timing. Believe that your situation is not beyond His power. Surrender control instead of forcing your own solution.
Reflection
How do you typically react when you face trials or afflictions? Do you run from God, complain, or cling to Him? Do you truly believe that God can deliver you from every challenge, or do you sometimes doubt His power? How can you encourage others who are going through many afflictions to trust in God’s deliverance? How can you use your own experiences of deliverance to glorify God and inspire faith in others? How does God’s promise to deliver you influence the way you pray, act, and make decisions? How can you cultivate hope and patience while waiting for God’s deliverance in your life?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that even when afflictions are many, You are my Deliverer. Help me not to lose heart in trials, and strengthen my faith when I feel weak or overwhelmed. Teach me to trust Your timing, guard me from fear and discouragement, and remind me that You are working for my good. I surrender every burden and struggle to You, and pray that my trials draw me closer to You while glorifying Your name. I believe no affliction is greater than Your power, and I thank You for faithfully rescuing, sustaining, and upholding me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
